Hi Markus, Stefan, Nice sigs last night, captured 0320. Meanwhile on VLF QRSS60, a new DX record: 2.8km at 15 dB above noise... 73 Joe VO1NA Attachment: nmfc120415.jpg Description: JPEG image
Thanks Joe, A lovely copy and a gratifying result of the work done on the home-brew power supply for the Decca. It was strewn in bits all over the floor in the shack for the past fortnight. Now the f
Hi Roger, Your TX/RX may be giving disappointing results at the moment, but your VLF web page is certainly not. Keep up the good work -- it is inspiring and appreciated. So far, my best VLF DX is 4.7
Hi Joe, Another lovely capture. Thanks again. It seems Markus' grabber is stalled. I hope all's OK. I've wound 2 new pie tuning coils using a drill press. It was very quick and convenient and hope to
Hi Joe, Thanks to you and Iabn and Mike for the reports. The OPDS at DF6NM and DK7FC show my TX QRG is low my 1 mHz. After 2 years it seems the DOCXO may have drifted a bit! It will be fun to recalib

Hi Stefan and group, I am building a probe using your design. Could you explain the interstage network and the 470 uH choke? I hope to use this to detect some 36 km photons. So far, using the PA0RDT
Stefan, Thanks for the info and advice. Yes, ferrite beads sound like a good idea. The resistors and caps (1M 100k 68pF 680pF etc) between the FET's are for lowpass or something else? 73 Joe VO1NA Hi

Hi Markus, Thank-you for the signal report and the frequency check. Your zoomed spectrum shows a relatively large drift. Perhaps there are sparks in the back yard again or the driver is misbehaving.
Hi Stefan, I tried to copy you last night but didn't realise until awaking this morning that the plug to sound card was not plugged in! If you are QRV tonight, we can try again. Your VLF probe design
Hi Stefan, 30 watts from an audio amp is stepped up with a 1:4 ferrite xfmr. One end of the secondary is grounded, the other goes to 2 pie coils wound with 3 strands of 0.08mm wire, L~450 mH R(DC)=43
Hi Jan, Thanks for the reports. I'll be on again tonight. 73 Joe Surprisingly received VO1NA sigs some on the edge of my noisefloor: 03:31 477 VO1NA de PA3ABK Op8 -31 dB F:5% in Dordrecht 03:27 477 V
Hi Graham, QRV since sunset and will be on till dawn. Surprisingly, nil on PSKreporter. Perhaps some lossy coax or spurs from the driver? Good Luck! Joe Missed your first pass Joe , then had to close
Hi Graham, Andy and Iban, Hope the QRN is better tonight so you can copy me Iban. Thanks for the report Andy. Nice strong sigs at your QTH and thanks for the relay, Graham. Good to know I don't have
Hi Markus, Thanks for the report. Its good to hear that the RF crossed the pond and all that land. The TX will be off tonight -- there is lightning in the forecast. 73 and thanks to all who monitored
Dear Group, A QRSS60 detection at 5.2 km is the best DX for yours truly to date. Although there was a detection at 7 km, this was probably via conduction from a nearby mains line. The RX is a DK7FC V
