Hi VLF

No gardening at all. Just following the way Stefan and others paved so clearly ;-)

This is a motorized table to make winding an easier task. The pot is 50cm diameter but don't trust the
quality and resistance to UV light. Will test a different model more rugged and about the same size

Got a 7Kg x 0.20mm coil of wire from a company which used to wind their own motors (time ago)

Yes Stefan, I plan to use the double side bonding tape and kapton. One question about it:
Do you place kapton over the plastic as a base layer ? or just covering the coil as end layer ?

Hi Luis,

Great! I somehow know that plastic pot :-)
What is the wire diameter?
Make sure to use double-sided bonding tape between the pot and the wire, otherwise the winding will move when becoming warm and cold and warm and cold again. Also i would really recommend to use that Kapton tape, the cheap version from China is fully OK, for example: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00CAMEB4W

Good luck :-)

Hi Dimitris,

My congrats! That is a good success and progress!

Can you tell more details?
How much power was used?
How much antenna current?
Was it the 3 turn loop?
What type of receiver was used on the RX site?
Is that site in a quiet location?
Which bandwidth or mode?
Was it actually QRSS-10 (Which i would watch in 122 mHz)?
What was the SNR?
Is there a screenshot for us to see?
What is your plan for today? :-)
Who is the next distant station?

This could be the beginning of a growing worldwide VLF activity, if you
can 'mobilise' a team of stations who build up RX and TX systems arround
VK.
