Here's a recent decode covering the whole transmission. The SNR was strong enough to make out the symbols in the phase plot. It was very quiet today, not a single lightning on Blitzortung Europe (they are all away working for Jay now ;~) I also think there's less daytime cancellation now due to the low solar elevation.

BTW I found my error regarding those "extra 10 seconds": 4 / 0.343 Hz = 11.7 seconds not 1.37 seconds.  Friday ;-)

Hi Markus,

Did you actually get it? I already expected this was to a too long message for such a short transmission time. And then the suboptimal daytime path between us. Can you show me the decoder results? The message is no secret.
The 1 symbol offset is unexpected. I set the start time correctly. Strange...

Hi Stefan,

got your Christmas message ok from preliminary DL0AO data, but I had to add an extra 10 seconds to the starttime. Maybe SpecLab's scheduled actions were set up for 13:30:00 but started one symbol late?

Hi Markus,

Yes. I thought it is time to use the longest nights in the year to play a bit on 8.27 kHz again.
Preparing for a 3 character message attempt over to W1VD. So far we managed 2 characters by stacking 3 nightly transmissions. We failed with 5 characters, somehow. That was in February.

Just for fun i'm going to transmit an EbNaut message soon:

f = 8270.1 Hz
Start time: 21.DEC.2018  13:30:00.3 UTC
Symbol period: 10 s
Characters: 12
CRC bits: 10
Coding 16K21A
Antenna current: 620 mA
Duration: 04:32 [hh:mm]

Last night between 0:40 and 7 UT, the DL0AO and DF6NM VLF grabbers showed a reasonably strong, westerly carrier on 8270.000 Hz. Stefan?
