ZEVS (81.99999 Hz carrier) is currently also quite busy sending messages. Unfortunately one might speculate that there exists a correlation between military VLF activity and geopolitical tension.
At last I have a positive identification of ZEVS here. The noise levels
are greater than normal at this time of year, the carriers at 80Hz and
84.08Hz are strong. The timing is BST (GMT+1) due to the fact that I
have gone back to XP so that my Delta 44 card has a proper driver, the
gaps in ZEVS carrier are verified as the times when data is sent,
although we have to imagine the actual data in the noise.
When I get more reliable signals I want to try Win7 with the USB sound
card to compare results and get a known good set up again. The noise
levels and outages have made it more difficult than usual this year to
find ZEVS.
