Indeed, last night was quite impressing. From my observation, February
is the best DX month, from ULF to MF.
I guess it's more than half a year ago that i visited the 630m band.
The input modification of my PA worked much easier than expected.
It was very cold outside, the losses were low!
Got regular JT9 reports from 15 stations > 5000 km distance.
The only TA receptions i got:
0127 -27 1.6 1069 @ OR7T N1BUG R-27
0131 -26 1.9 1069 @ OR7T N1BUG R-27
0157 -25 1.9 1294 @ DK7FC NO3M -18
0215 -27 -0.1 1069 @ DK7FC N1BUG -18
These were received from the NW/SE loop on the tree. From the city,
there was no TA reception at all.
Late in the night, better said early in the morning, i got the idea to
play with SpecLab as a pre-noise-reduction-stage in front of WSJT-X.
Maybe a band filter, multi-notch filter and noise blanker would have
helped? It was to late and i've been tired. Went to bed at 5:00 AM
local time!!
It was funny and exciting.
Good luck for the next attempts.
73, Stefan
PS: Soon back to VLF, but still not sure what to do on the weekend...
