Thanks Stefan!

Yes 5.17 kHz is a good daytime frequency for our distance. Before the EbNaut sequence, I had sent a brief carrier on 5170.0025, and was amazed (again) to find a trace even in your 3.8 mHz instance - great receiver! I resumed the carrier transmission after 14:16, and will probably leave it on until around 19 UT.

Yesterday I rebuilt the 5.17 kHz coil assembly. It is now resembling a 60 cm high mushroom, with a blower on stilts at the bottom, 5 stacked yoghurt cups as the stem, and 7 stacked buckets as an umbrella head. There's a stack of various ferrites in the middle, and two containers  around it to provide a double-layered acoustical insulation.

Good to see that DL0AO has come online again. Using the remote receivers on your tree and in Amberg, we could probably even attempt a full-duplex QSO ;-)

All the best,
Markus  (DF6NM)

Hello Markus,

No problem at all. The noise has been very low. We could have a real QSO on that band using 2 hour blocks!

... yes Stefan, this should be possible, maybe we can try tomorrow.

Hello Markus,

Nice, i can see you again :-)
What about a message on 5170 tomorrow during the daylight period? :-)

To give a little exercise to the grabbers and to my antenna, I am sending a carrier since 13:43 UT with 0.37 A current. To avoid interference to Joe's daytime EbNaut I decided to go to 8270.0075 - 1/60 Hz = 8269.9908333 Hz. Will leave it on for only about an hour now, and maybe again later today or tomorrow.

A peak seems to be appearing now at the tree in Heidelberg. Unfortunately DL0AO is uploading only intermittently, presumably due to a local IT problem.

Best 73,
Markus (DF6NM)
