OK Andy they are the normal doorknob types, the ones I am looking at are made of a white ceramic case and are nitrogen filled with bolts at either end. There are 2 types available in 2000pf 2kv and 16kv. They are about 100mm long. They are available via ebay. 73 Dave -----Original Message-----

I did not tried the teflon models, but in the years 2002 I had an home made
ampli on 2200m band, with 2 x 3-500Z tubes, also 800 W output.
I used Russian doorknob
capacitors types K15U-2 and KVI-3 without any problem. They are still avaible on
the UR4LL surplus parts site http://www.ur4ll.net/
Andy.
Has anybody tried using the Russian
teflon doorknob capacitors for tuned circuits on 137 khz? I have seen some rated
at 2000pf at 16kv which will give me the 8000pf I require to tune the loop. So
far most caps get hot or self destruct when getting to 1kw, only 2/3 power.
Current at 800 w is about 20 amps. Thanks
Dave
