Learn morse code, how to operate a wireless, be able  to build a radio preferably using valves/tubes, construct a simple antenna like a dipole or inv L

Communicate purely by radio –HF ---VHF and forget about internet and data.

 

A cw operator, simple TX/RX and a piece of wire will always work whereas complicated data and internet dependency will ultimately fail, control is in the hands of a third party.
