Spectrogram of W4DEX at Forest, VA (Mike Smith KE4RJQ) showing a very strong signal at range 254km, http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/141216b.png I played around with gnuplot to make this fancy 3D spectrogram at a wider bandwidth which reveals some short period fluctuation of the amplitude http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/141216c.png In Todmorden, Dex was his usual signal strength on the loop rx http://abelian.org/vlf/tmp/141216d.gif giving an average 15.8dB S/N from 00:00 to 04:00. Only a faint trace of the signal at Cumiana last night. Best I can get is 8.6dB S/N on a 5 hour average and that doesn't stand out on a spectrum and certainly isn't significant against the noise. -- Paul Nicholson -- |
