Hi all,
The wx forecast doesn't sound like good kiting weather for the
weekend.
Maybe you can take one of these gadgets along (the older may
remember the once-famous german "Yps" magazine from the
1980's...):
A "Giant Solar Zeppelin". Basically just a large tube made of
super-thin black foil. Inflate it, and place it into the sun :

:o)
Cheers and good luck,
Wolf .

Hi Stefan, Chris,
...sounds
like fun! I think I heard Chris mention on air a while ago
that he has a large garden at hand, so that's surely a nice
opportunity.

great... that's the one problem I'd just love to have one
day;-))
Have a nice trip, and a good time together!

Betreff: LF: MF/LF kite activity this coming sunday
Hi
all,
I'm in holidays for another 4 weeks now. This coming sunday,
20th, i'm planning to visit DF5QG in JO42.
We intend to play arround with a kite antenna which will be
about 100m high. The ground losses are quite low and maybe we
can try to build a Lambda/4 vertical for 630m, which should
have about 50 Ohm feed point impedance then.
With some power we should be able to reach the magical 1 W ERP
limit. Maybe someone out there will hear us. The antenna
currents will be relatively low though, due to the high
radiation resistance on MF...
We also want to try 137 kHz later. It all depends on the WX,
as usual. I'm on a tour through Germany, more than 1500km, so
i cannot carry my VLF coil all the time, thus no VLF
transmissions in this experiment.
If someone is interested in skeds in CW on LF or MF or
anything else, just tell us your ideas :-)
