Just returned from the coffee break and saw this printed on the screen:

Fb.. I didn't hear the black cat meowing this time, but despite being 
not audible, decoding was error free again.

Tobias - Indeed the symbol numbers are printed over another. This 
shouldn't be the case if the decoder emitted only one character per 
symbol time. It's more of less a debugging aid, not really important for 
normal operation.
It helps to see if the new tone frequency decoder (which also compares 
the phase between consecutive FFTs) behaves well, or "runs wild".
