But , yes, Opera decoder is backwards compatible
to FSK beacons , either shifting inside the
decoder pass band or outside , as long as the
shift is past the gaud band of a few 100
mHz ,

only a test with DFCW-Opera ;-). Just another
idea to generate an Opera signal with an uninterrupted carrier, as a
workaround for transmitters with flipflops. The upper frequency
carries the desired modulation, the lower one just dumps the carrier during the
gaps. Choosing the FSK shift as a multiple of the symbol rate preserves the
phase.
Due to poor energy efficiency, this is NOT the
recommended technique to generate a coherent carrier;-)
