Thanks Laurence for all the great info.  Be looking tomorrow for any results.  It is a very tough path even on HF and signals never very strong or long lived-know it's better for the S and SW stations-Bob

Bob - the signal appeared at dusk and faded in at 0400 and out by 0500Z - I can see some weak traces out of that period. The radio got reassigned a little after but Ill reprogram that so it stays on tonight; Local S/N varies widely here from hour to hour dependent on who switches what only within a few miles radii :-

I didnt check CFH but will - but its only a Sky wave signal as nothing received during the day as compared with the "local" CKN 76.2Khzish MSK at 2200Kms which comes in +24 (Its on now at 1756Z) -

Sundown here  is 0230Z and up at 1652Z daylight decreasing around 6 mins a day at this time.

The West to East paths are not that easy for your area  but signals from more Southerly states La, Tx and Nm which roughly follow the same path are much better . I looked at our 5000Kms or so path and its "dry" save some local and Gt Lakes stuff your end and a lot of glacier and mountains close in at mine.

Laurence;
It certainly looks like my signal!  Would never expect that freq would propagate to your part of the world at 1 W ERP!
How well do you here CFH on 73.6?  They apparently are heard world wide and deep sea depts.
Bob
