I wonder why the current working frequency of 74,5495kHz was chosen? According to my receive system this is still on the edge of the noise sidebands from DCF77, and some 3dB S/N could be gained by operating from 1kHz to 3kHz further LF. Is this just my receiver/antenna (perhaps my antenna has gone HF as the leaves fall off the trees), or do others see this? 3dB doesn't sound much but is a lot with a marginal QRSS signal. Any comments from other Eu receive stations? Mike ==== |
