Correlating random events again Ed .... :)

Why not set up a path measuring experiment , use one of the faster Op modes , say OP1 , that would give you a 60 second sample width over a protracted time .. and a simple graph would indicate the % signal was above a decode level .. 60 second should catch the mythical 'flash propagation of MF'

OP1 is -3 or more below wspr2 so the Tx station would need to be reasonable power o/p .... I can think of 2 stations ..

One problem with w-2/15 is 'we don't actually know the decode profile , with Op , we know 50% of the 256 bits need to be above the min s/n to decode.. randomly distributed or on block / block's ... wspr used to show , was it 16 sync points ? but would go with 1 , but what contributed to a sync ?

Op15 was dropped a while back as the results seemed to be counter-productive on MF , LF was ok, but the qsb cycle allowed for 32 mins , with the extra -3 dB

I remain unconvinced that WSPR15 offers much advantage over WSPR2 on 630m.

Below are the distance records for the 2 modes as accurate as I can be from the Data Base. I have ignored obvious false decodes, dial frequency settings errors and decodes by ET. There may be other genuine decodes hidden in there.

The entry's below are in distance order, I cannot include everything there will be stations between the distances included.

What is obvious is the difference between the first 2 entries.16832 Km is Exceptional, 7602 Km is Good.

We soon get to a category of below 2500Km which I will label as Pathetic. Why? Because of the 14th entry, here we have a pathetic time waster with a laughable tiny back yard antenna surrounded by houses, trees and metal masts and the fool is running QRP.:-)
