That night there was heavy icing in
ny-state , so the final power to the ae , was round 300
watts , was expecting 500 , but at that level,
things started to light up ...... by the erp listed , must be
up round the 1kw , x4 the
previous power level , Bob's PA for 500 is much
larger than the 136
But , yes with 50% m/s ratio , energy
drop's again by 50% , so to test
with equal energy , then the power has to be
x2 compared to a 100% carrier system , so all
the equal power tests are really 50%
biased before the start ..
So in static same power min level testing , its expected
that a bias will show , but over longer real
path , then , I think the decode profile has a
bigger role to play ... ' Horses for Courses
' as the saying go's .......( er, that's
race courses and not part of a menu )
A flutter test would be interesting , would
need some one with a 'large' signal to
run OP0.5 at 100% -20 dB s/n min , and
see what decode s/n variations where , that would
give a 30 second sample window , op1
would give 60 seconds , but that may be too course

Ed ,
Or using 1/4 of the power , with a slightly
more puzzling mode , 8
Power or
Energy?
