Yes Markus, GO!!!

You and me, we are not the only ones. I bet that G4WGT or PA0A would make it as well, no doubt! And there are several stations listening across the pond, some with quite impressive RX antenna systems. We can even use the same time slot for the transmissions. There are no problems in that distance... G3KEV would make it as well over there, of course. But a suitable exciter is needed for the FSK stuff (not a linear mode PA!).

Will you give it a try?

BTW, just been catched by LA6TPA, who is very high in the north

nice work! Up to -17 dB SNR is really not bad, should be 21 dB above the threshold. The wee hours would have been a good opportunity for us weaker ones to make it across! Oh well...

Too bad there wasn't one or two more.

>Jay, didn't you say that there is no chance for the TA path when DST levels are below -20 nT?

Don't think I said 'no chance' ... just that conditions deteriorate below that level. Don't forget that this time of year we have a number of extra dB headroom (or maybe footroom) since background noise is lower enhancing s/n. Whatever happened yesterday was a small event of very short duration with DST only momentarily hitting -40 nT and recovery beginning immediately thereafter. The plot we refer to is only a real time 'prediction' and the final results may turn out to be different. As Alan might quip, what we saw yesterday might have only been a ripple in the jello ;~)

Hi Jay,

Thanks.
9 UTC was my last transmission! Last night as i looked to the DST levels i didn't expect much over the TA path. But somehow it seems that the conds have been improved to longer times in the morning. -32 dB at 9 UTC is quite impressing/interesting.
Any explanations from the experts? Jay, didn't you say that there is no chance for the TA path when DST levels are below -20 nT?
Nice band!

Interesting ... 9-1/2 hours of uninterrupted copy this end. Also interesting is that decodes continued to 0900Z (latest I've seen) ... with Stefan's sunrise 0703Z I believe. DST started the evening at -40 nT but has improved to -25 nT currently.

Similar results the other direction with G8HUH having solid copy over a number of hours ... with last decode at 0845Z.
