I understand about call-signs in PIC HEX code but what I have managed in the passed is to do is to identify the call and locator info with in the code in the ROM and alter it to mine if it is using ASCII. Any way I will cross that bridge later with your help may be but I should start to compile my own code rather than play with other peoples.
 
OK on you mixing old and new technology. I tend to try and maintain originality but its difficult so I often use say a LED and an RF indicator in my rigs in place of the usual and larger Neon and of course and silicon diodes if I need a bit of DC off the heater supply to operated the key (electo-mech) relays and electret mics. So my stuff is not pure retro there probably is a limit to how far you can maintain this philosophy sensibly.

Hi Pete,

the problem with a .hex file is that it will contain my callsign, not
yours! You will need to compile your own, however, if that's what
stops you from making a transmitter or a general purpose QRSS3 keyer
like this, I could program a 12F675 pic with your details and send it
to you. Or, if you have a pic programmer, I could compile the code and
produce a .hex with your call. Or, I can just send you the code and
you can modify it to suit your needs :-) Let me know.

It's funny, my 807 transmitter combines "hollow state" technology,
microcontrollers (keyer) and DDS (VFO) :-) Oh, I use an IRF720 to key
the 807 (cathode keying is tricky), I think I could eeeasily get 20 W
out of the IRF720 in class D/E. But that wouldn't be fun!
