This idea might be complete nonsense, but a couple of years ago I was using for WSJT a computer which had a clock which drifted.
 
Provided the 'clock updater' did its job with regularity, everything ran fine, but if the interval became extended, when the 'update' eventually happened it caused the program to crash........I assume that the 'large' time correction disrupted some aspect of the software.
 
I think I have seen some references to your clock drifting.........I don't suppose that the 'crash' coincides with a clock update??
