Is stability good enough for QRSS / DFCW 60 or 120? Eyes have an easier time following frequency excursions than most digital mode decoders ...

Hi Laurence,

Condx are EXCELLENT on LF/MF. Do you see real chance for our path this night? If so, which mode would be preferred? And are you RXing or TXing at all? :-)

Chaps/chappesses -Looking at my results here overnight I have just too much thermal drift with my present driver for the 30 mode - the issue is my trusty FT817 driver using 5MHz IF that even with a TXCO is...too drifty. JT9-5 is fine -  But hey it may have been pretty on an Argo/SL screen :-)

The environment is rather hostile for radios - temps are around 0degC in the garage even with heat (that I can afford anyway) so from long off periods the radio cools even internally..I need to being the lot back in the office/shack - but real estate is rather limited and Im in deep negotiations with the boss.

Its fine with the "faster" modes but I have some work to do with the 850 and other drivers - it was just a stop gap to get me on the air. Ill dig out the ZL1BPU DDS and continue to work on the 850 external locked ref oscillator doubler board.

Ill run JT9-5 for a while today for testing purposes - dial 136, tx plus 1100Hz  (carrier 137.11 appx) -
