For second question I have just found a complete (and negative) answer in a nice freeware program "mini Ring Core Calculator" by Wilfried Burmeister, DL5SWB.
Cheers

Oggetto: LF: OT - Two questions about toroids

Hello LF,

I have two questions about toroids that probably someone in the list could help me with:

1) I recovered two unknown toroids from a TV set which included a DVD player. Apparently they were used as common mode chokes in the middle of multi-wire flat cables connected between the TV main board and the DVD player. Could they be of some use in LF-MF circuits?

2) More OT: I have some unused FT114-43 toroids. I wonder if they could be used as a substitute of T80-2 toroids in small (QRP) HF antenna tuners that I'm planning to build for 14 MHz.

Many thanks for reading.
