Hi Mike, Roger and Alan,
I entirely agree with what you say Mike.
Roger, I think the problem is the feeling that unappointed persons would have undue influence. I have been involved with other groups in the past where the whole set up is run by one or two unelected 'control freak' types and it's been a disaster. Whilst I agree that there have been undesirable goings on on here, from absurd religious content even, through insults to childish comments, I would be concerned if some self appointed person was able to decide who/what to block. Alan, I am not even slightly convinced that spammers are getting our e-mail addresses from this reflector, in fact it's probably less so than other sites that send out mailings to multiple addressees - often with all the addresses open for all to see.
Vy 73,
Chris, G4AYT.

Subject: LF: Reflector

In the fog of discussion about a possible Yahoo group, one thing has
been overlooked. Without this reflector, experimentation on VLF/LF
would have been almost non-existent. It provides a very valuable
forum for discussion, advice and skeds, as well as reassuring us all
that there is someone out there listening.

We all owe a debt of gratitude to those who have provided this
reflector for many years. They have helped us achieve the most
extraordinary feats over the years.

Whether we change to a Yahoo Group is a matter for the group's users.
If anyone wants to set up a group and =importantly= is prepared to
keep it running for years to come, then that's fine. But please don't
assume that those who selflessly run the Blacksheep system will want
to run it. They deserve our thanks, not complaints.

Mike, G3XDV
==========.
