Hi Stefan
No it wasn't an update, I control my computers not Bills mob.
I was just in the middle of this new set up on the Laptop so hadn't
saved my usr. files until I was fully happy.
The desktop has been doing Stirling service 24/7 but the XYL is not
happy with the cooling fans in the shack next to the bedroom. She is
not as brave as Uwe's XYL, she doesn't switch the computer off in
the night. :-)
I have increased the virtual memory on the Laptop, I have to see
what it can cope with.

Hi Eddie,
Just disable the automatic updates (including automatic
re-starting).
Also save any finished SpecLab settings in a own usr file. Then
close
the instance and re-load it. It will work then. Even the window
size
will be the same than before if you close and reload the instance
after
all adjustments are done. This works very well on my grabber :-)
I'm
also running XP on the LF and VLF grabber and see no problems with
24/7/365 operation.

Hello Uwe / Henny
A report from me also, please take a look at my Grabber http://g3zjo.bplaced.net/index.htm
to see your signals, soon the traces will be gone the

Windows XP totally crashed this afternoon. This was the new set
up
using a Laptop computer results look quite good. I spent ages
setting
up all the instances for optimum and I hadn't yet saved them.
Some re booted windows are up, some displayed frequencies are
wrong
those pesky zeros again, they will have to wait for Mr Gates to
honour
me with another crash or I decide a re start. I would love to be
paid
just a Euro per hour for all the hours that Windows wastes, I
would buy
several more computers,
