By the way, OAM has become very popular in Italy since the transmission experiment held by Italian scientist Fabrizio Tamburini in Venice for general audience. After this, Mr. Tamburini was interviewed by all newpapers and TV talk shows in Italy, which continued to report about the new transmission technique for days, under the popular name of "fusilli waves", fusilli being a specific kind of Italian pasta (see the attached picture) :-)
Best regards
Daniele

Oggetto: LF: Origin of mystery staircase signal solved

Greetings all,

Peter, DF3LP, has now finally found the origin of the mystery "staircase" signal on VLF, 12 to 15 kHz.

That signal had previously been pinpointed by Paul in Todmorden, and bearings verified by other means.

The Bockshorn-effect is remarkable.. and possibly a solution for all kinds of problems (limited garden space, unefficient antennas, ... )

Who will be the first radio amateur to build a reduced version of the phantastic OAM antenna ?
Peter has more photos on request, just in case you need more details.

Have a great sunday everyone,
  73,  Wolf .
