Dear VLF-observers,

It looks like the Alpha's have started on 4 new frequencies, probably old ones re instated.

Indeed, these frequencies have been used long ago. I remember the "line" on 15625 Hz, which was the PAL TV line frequency, but despite TV sets in the neighbourhood the Alpha line was clearly visible.

A nice quiet night on VLF here, again experts, are the horizontal curtains Aurora?
Yes there was a nice audible aurora on VLF this morning. Paul Nicholson's automated event detector may have captured and stored some of them (follow the "Event" links, but this morning's events may be a few pages back in the history):
