Hi Uwe

thats the sence of the castle mode, Eddie.

Yes that's fine for an 'E' or a 'T' but a figure is five different rising / falling frequencies which take  five times longer.

Can you transmit 5 different frequencies? How about making your own code Freq.1 = D, Freq.2 = J, Freq.3 = 8, Freq.4 = W, Freq.5 = X , 2 hours per symbol, gives your full call in 10 hours, just twice the time taken for Castle to send one figure at your 1Hour symbol time.
It needs to be a locked frequency, a divider step, of course, this could be controlled by a PIC to release the computer.

OK there has to be something wrong with this idea, someone blow it out of the water.

thats the sence of the castle mode, Eddie.
the only handicap here is the stnd alone generator because the shift is too wide for VLF.
but I dont like to use a PC as beacon generator.

seems I should tx in carrier mode agn (8970.022Hz).

Hi Uwe

I have seen some clusters of dots here but your symbol time is not long enough to be sure. Castle is pretty difficult to follow on an R5 signal at QRS3, Step is better, but I would say that, I developed it.

If you are using multiple frequencies then surely the absolute coding system used by Marcus is far superior and would cut the time to send a letter or figure and allow longer symbol time giving a chance of decoding here as opposed to zero.

Hi all,

an hour or so ago the DJ8WX TX has been switched on.

QRG: 8970.022Hz

Mode: CASTLE

Speed: 3600 (means one sign = one hour)

Shift: 119mHz (sri, but I cant get it narrower programming an

          EEPROM AT90S2313-10PC)

QRGs occupied: 8970.082Hz and 8969.963Hz.

So it shows the letter:

The TX will be on the air at least until tomorrow late afternoon

when my XYL begins her garden work.

Meanwhile she knows the PAs off-switch

and she doesn’t hesitate  using it disrespectful (when  getting an electric shock).

but today she is on shopping tour.
