Warren I did the mods for ext vfo as a standby TX but never actually used
it since I had other home built qro 136 rigs with vfo ctl.
It is a tricky rig to work on because of the cramped component layout, one
mistake might render the board useless. Getting the pa FETS separated from
the chassis is also tricky to do the mod. Maybe it is not worth the effort.
It might be worth more unmodified as an antique.
I did use it a few times in its unmodified state and it worked well but the
PA would not match to an antenna that had the loading coil/matching network
grounded at the base of the antenna.
