Hello Steinar,
A few hours ago i wrote an email to some VLF grabber runners. There i
announced further tests on my fixed antenna here in Heidelberg. This
antenna performs well on LF but on VLF the signals are rather poor.
Anyway, the QRN is as low as never seen here in the last days so i
actually think there could be a chance to see my signal.
A next kite experiment is planned as well but unfortunately there was no
suitable wind since many weeks. It has to be on a weekend, so that many
stations find so time to view... I'll keep an eye on the wind forecast.
The experiments on the fixed antenna here are independent of wind of
course but the signal will be at least 30 dB lower!
You have to have a good prepared SpecLab configuration to see anything
at all. Something like "DFCW-6000" is needed for the fixed antenna and
our distance.
It would be interesting to see some "wideband" screenshots from you
before we start, i.e. a plot over several hours, covering 0...24 kHz or
so, as seen on almost any VLF grabbers. This helps to identify your
noise and sensitivity situation. Can you publish such a spectrogram here?
If you need further advice, just ask.
So, maybe next week i will do a test here on the fixed antenna,
radiating about 50 uW ERP.

PS: Lubos/OK2BVG, when will you be on air again?

Hi all,
Is there any plans for a transmission on 8,97khz in the near future?
I have made me an active E-field antenna

and it could be very interesting to see how well it works .
