Decca mods info
Hi Band Model 5501 E
Measuired L= 66uH on orig freq
C = 23.7 nH
therefore to retune to 137 Khz needs a 150 nF capicator in series with existing C result 137.0 Khz
This is the most convenient model to modify for the LF BAND
If you are fortunate to have one of these models, you could be in business after a couple of hours.
Specified drive is 4.5 volts sq or sine wave although some extra drive is an advantage say 7 - 10 Volts
If you have a spare PA capacitor board for the lower freq units there are plenty of 150 nF capacitors for the mod.
These amplifiers and individual units ( 3 per amp) are easily modified for any freq of interest 600, 160, 80 metres and maybe even 40 metres. Each individual unit will produce around 400 Watts at around 67 volts into a 71 ohm load or alternatively use 60 volts into a 50 ohm load.
More info available if needed
