Recent emails indicate  Malta is now QRV on 500. In the past I had reports from Malta, Cyprus, Greece and Sri Lanka es Russia to the East plus QSO'S to Russia and the USA es Canada
Interest at present is so diverse and fragmented on the lower frequencies ie ZEVS, 6 es 9 Khz that would be operators on 137 and 500 are elswhere !!!
also the Beacon culture does not help on any band. The aim should surely be to have a two way real time exchange of information like what happens on HF and VHF
