Hello Gerhard,

I am afraid it is not only due to propagation, as you say. As i saw DJ8WX's signal today and compared it to the old signal levels i got the idea that the trees and gras, which are green now(!) may increase the losses on VLF significantly. This may be the same on your QTH. Time for loop antenna experiments, which are quasi unaffected by that. Rather local tests but Scott may show us some interesting work soon :-)

Stefan, VLF!

In general, I noticed decreasing conditions on VLF during the past
weeks. This has on one hand to do with increasing noise and longer noise
periods but this alone can not explain the bad propagation.

My last transmission, about two weeks ago was hardly copied by your
grabber, while during winter it was not a problem to make a fat trace
with the same setup. Ossi experienced the same.

I do not plan transmissions on VLF for now, except with the kite antenna
which will more than compensate the bad propagation.

This only reflects my "feeling" without any proof or measurement
results.

So out of this feeling, for me it's no surprise that Uwes signal is that
"weak" now compared to some weeks ago.

Uwe, VLF,

Today you are visible in 60000 and traces in 6000 but the QRN
decreases the SNR significantly (i didn't change the brightness slider
since the winther time!).

Hello Uwe,

Nice to hear from you again. Yes, no trace here. Your last
transmission of March, 29 is still visible and if i compare the
signal levels (i.e. colors) and substract 3 dB you should be visible
anyway, but this may be due to the effect of noise blanking...
A grabber in north DL would be useful but who can arrange that? :-)

Hi all,

my stn transmitted a carrier yesterday 0000 -1430UTC and today
0730 - 1309UTC.

abt half the output power as some weeks ago.

the only stn out of eleven grabbers that received the sign was
Todmorden.

my stn will be back on the air when todays strong wind calms down
agn.
