Hello Rik, LF,

Vy fine! I'm going to install V4.08 now.

Ossi/OE5ODL suggested to try some QRSS-1 QSOs. Here, the 250 characters may be very useful! :-)

Tnx for explanations.

Hi Stefan,

the mean difference is that v3.17 is Win3 and Win95 compatible but will not
support the parallel port under WinNT upward while v4.08 has full support of
the parallel port but requires at least Win98.
Further:
- Message size increased for 70 chararcters to 250 characters
- Soundcard can be used for DFCW tones and CW sidetone
- AutoStart feature allows automatic and unattended beacon mode
- "Countdown" message (transmission will end in xxhyy'zz")
- All messages (as stored under "text") can be selected from within the QSO
window

Hello Rik,

I'm still using V3.17.
What is the most useful advantage(s) of V4.08?

Some days ago had a nice random QSO with DK7FC on 137.7 KHz.
We started in QRSS then he come back with a loong DFCW message.
Unfortunately had no DFCW keyer capability.
Have built several PIC (16F84) keyers including the SM6LKM beacon
keyer modified by me for QRSS, but none has the DFCW option.
Being a H.M. fan am looking for some afordable ideas.
