My 40m loop resonated for RX on 500 khz works well but it is a poor performer on 9 khz connected directly to the sound card, I think the card sees it as a short cct because of the Z mismatch.
Other antennas, 80m dipole and 1/4 wave 600m inv L non resonated work well into the sound card in spite of the Z mismatch.
 Loops with preamps and matching transformers are a different senario and no doubt work well.
