You may need an external pre-amp. See several books and web sites for
circuits. Your insulation should not be a problem on receive.

I forgot to mention that I get some advantage from driving Argo very
hard - well into the red zone - and via a crude limiter (back-to-back
diodes). The AF distortion introduced is counter-intuitive but it has
been found by me and others (Jim, M0BMU calls his limiter a Hendrix-
izer) to gain a dB or two in SNR with only a small increase in
background noise.
