I do not believe that a two-way QSO resulted from last night's
activity. However, HE3OM was visible at good strength on JA7NI's
QRSS30 grabber, but with deep QSB, for five or six hours. UA4WPF was
also there some of the time.
No other EU station was visible, despite several well-equipped
stations being active.
JA7NI was just visible and very occasionally readable on RN3AGC's
excellent grabber, but I do not believe he has been received further
west.
Although few of us will be able to achieve the ERP that HE3OM seems
to have, the exercise was very positive as it shows that given 'only'
another 15 or 20dB more S/N it may be possible to have a two-way
between western Eu and Japan. A target has been set down.
Your homework, boys and girls, is to devise a mode and/or procedure
that will bridge that 20dB gap.
