I have not tried doing this using FM, but I have used a 100mWatt A.M. transmitter
to send audio from a receiver in the shack to an A.M. radio in another room.
I connected the record out jack into the sound card input of the PC in the family
room, and, It worked OK, and I was able to view QRSS in the family room while
watching TV, instead of running back and forth between commercials to see if I
was receiving anything. The only problem was the fact that there is not a clear
A.M. frequency in the BC Band, and occasionally a station would come thru.
In my opinion; a wireless FM transmitter would be better, and pose less
interference problems from On Air stations. Probably a better Dynamic Range
for lower S/N ratio too.
