LF: VHF Synthesizer module

To use up some of the eighty or so MC145170 VHF PLL chips I'm sitting on,  take a look at

This is a design for a self contained syhthesizer from operation up to about 170MHz, with proper choice of components.  It is designed to fit into one of Alan G3NYK, 's  tinplate boxes (37 x 55 x 30mm).   The synth has a self-contained PIC with mini-operating system for control over a serial RS232 link.

 

The .ZIP file includes design utilities and a mirrored 2X .PDF of the PCB track side if you want to make your own.

 

If there's enough interest, I can get a proper PCB made up, cost unknown as yet - but past experience suggests 25 off is a good break-even point.

The chip used is somewhat ancient now, but still forms the basis of a very decent VHF synthsizer.  

When (if !) all these chips get used up,  it won't be repeated.
