ah, maybe my answer missed your point - the peak in the frequency response is simply due to the preselection filter.

Hello Mike,
 
this is most likely intermodulation from the 9 kHz raster in the European MF and LF broadcast bands. Viewed in detail, it is not a single carrier but a conglomerate of closely spaced lines, probably due to non precise BC carrier frequencies.
