Hello Gary,

I am a bit fuzzed why the CQ call in CW had to be 200Hz from the frequency you and Gary were on. There was plenty of free space up and down the band. A bit later the CW caller got a reply, but could hardly copy that station. Although both stations were solid copy here, despite the strong RTTY signals. I ended up "multitasking": reading the CW signals by ear and at the same time reading the RTTY on the screen ...

Today I picked up a SAIT MT430B marine TX. I haven't tested it yet but if it is still operational it could be converted into a good linear 400W TX for 500kHz.

Hi Rik,

Thanks for your report & comments.

I enjoyed the QSO with Graham, I could also hear the CW you mention.

Cheers,

Gary - G4WGT.

Gary, Grahem,

I followed your RTTY QSO (+/- 20:40 UTC) with almost perfect copy from both station. Even after a CW station started calling CQ about 200Hz up copy was still good. RTTY 45dB/85Hz seems quite robust.
