When mine’s not on 500 it is
watching 5649/5616/5598 Shanwick Aeradio and the Gander Freqs on 8.8xx and is a
lot better than my dipole I also use for these. The noise level creeps up in
the evening a little but not so much as to cause grief. My Rx is an old JRC
505 which has v good sensitivity at LF/MF of around 1uV on cw/ssb. My 515 is
also good down here.
Mine is on the end of my garage on top of
a 5m alloy pole and then topped with 2 metres of wood. Feeder is about 25m of
RG58 back to the bias t in the shack.
With best regards

Hi Horst, Jim, LF,
Same here, I have used a PA0RDT Mini-Whip active antenna for a good
while now & it's performance is very good right down to 10kHz, may even go
lower if I knew what to look for !!!
My online grabbers use the Mini-Whip antenna.

Hi Horst
I've just installed one of Roelof Bakker's (PA0RDT) active mini whips and it
is excellent at my QTH. Just my view, others may have different
experiences
With best regards
Jim

Subject: LF: Best receiving antenna wanted
Hello,
now that I am happy with my selectiv level meter Praecitronic MV-62 I am
looking for the best receicing antenna.
Especially I am interested in 400khz, 136kHz, 72kHz and below 22 kHz. With
my 40m longwire reception is not good enough and with a frame antenna of
900m copper wire it was disappointing, too..
I think, an active antenna for 0 to 500 MHz would be the best for me - but I
am looking forward to any other idea.
