Dear LF
G7NKS is back on tonight with a new umbrella antenna under
test.
10m vertical element with 4x8m capacity wires sloping down
at 45degrees. Not ideal but a little better than the old “L”.
According to the VNA the Xs is down to 4 and the SWR at the
base before transformer went from 2.5 to 1.8.
Back at the shack the SWR was 2 and after the transformer it
was 1.5 with Xs still at 15
Power output hasn’t changed much though so we’ll
see if its any more efficient
Thanks for any reports
With best regards
Jim
