You are right Mal and we need more Ops on 500. We must make the 500kc/s a viable band for Amateur Radio World Wide. It will be a sorry day if this allocation is not made permanently part of the International Amateur Radio spectrum.
Living near Luton and not too far from Duxford we have the delight and excitement to see from our back garden in the Summer months, many old war birds in the overhead head this weekend we had a B17 cruising towards Duxford just to the north of the Luton/Stansted special rules zone and the week end before we saw a Catalina all at or around minimum altitude. Being within about a mile of RAF Henlow which gets at least one or two low level fly pasts from the BoB squadron during the year we get a ring-side seat to the Lanc and Spitfire just an incredible sight and sound..
The B29 is a rare bird are any flying in Europe now? Good luck with the radio collection.

Condx vy good at present. JA stns audible last nite on 1820 khz CW. The same probably applies on 500 khz if there was anyone available to work.
