Thanks Mal.

Seems like a good idea to stick to your established 7033. However, QSY to 10MHz will not be necessary after all as the WPX contest is next weekend not this one. - My Mistake.

That sounds good. I have found 7Mhz good to to the USA evening and night time. I have not tried 10 Mhz but it could be useful to avoid contest acty.
Good luck

Hi all.

Can anyone on the East Coast USA comment of the state of 501 -504kHz for transatlantic reception?

I have confirmed availability of a large field in East Sussex for this Sunday night for some portable operation.

If I have to select a frequency, then I may as well choose a clear one possibly in the mid - upper portion of the band say 503.1

One potential problem for cross band into Europe using Mals well established 7033kHz is the CQWW WPX contest. - So may have to go to 10MHz for that, or we do have 400W + 16 ele on 2m at 600 ft ASL which should be fine for ON / F / PA western DL.

Locator will be JO00EW near Dallington East Sussex.
Power 0 - 250 Watts, antenna dependent. - Aim +10dBW peak ERP

Main purpose of this trip is the antenna experiment, but it would be nice to make some CW / QRSS3 QSOs too.

Site location can be seen here.

Thanks
