Thanks for that Jim,

Seems its close between the mfsk and throb systems , I found the throb mode worked best last night may be its down to the noise format , but psk31 appears to of produced the highest error rates at
all locations , Rik reporting the throb system printing quite well

Tnx- Graham .

Dear Graham, LF Group,

Have been watching your test for an hour or so. At the peaks of the fades,
all 3 modes decode quite well:-

MSK4:
CQ CQ CQ de g0nbd g0nbd g0nbd
CQ CQ CQ de g0nbd g0nbd g0nbd
qsl [email protected] [email protected]

ThrobX 2:
CQ CQ CQ DE G0NBD G0NBD G0NBD
CQ CQ CQ DE G0NBD G0NBD G0NBD
QSL [email protected] [email protected]

PSK31:
e C
 CQ 1Q d0nbd g0nbd g0nbd
CQ CQ CQ de g0nbd g0nbd g0nbd
qsl [email protected] [email protected]

When the signal levels are down, MSK4 seems most robust, with Throb
somewhere in the middle:-

t¹8n° ND
CQ CQ CQ de g0nbd g0nbd g0nbd
CQ CQ CQ de g0nbd g0nbd g0nbd
qsl [email protected] [email protected]

3-LNBD G0NBD G0NBD
CQ CQ CQ DE G0NBD G0NBD G0NBD
QSL [email protected] [email protected]

CQ CQ d
g0nId g0e
d g0nbd
iQ CQ CQ de g0p
p .0Êwg
eet
g tloTail.°

Watching the decodes, I am seeing that PSK31 is vulnerable to static
crashes - each loud burst of QRN corrupts a few characters, while the other modes seem to tolerate this better. This is similar to previous experience. When the QRN is not present, the PSK31 is nearly as good as the other modes.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
