According to a message in NRRL-HQ bulletin QST-LA0309, the Norwegian PTT
supports the views of NRRL that the historic significance of 500 kHz should be
kept alive through use of its primary mode Morse telegraphy, and has granted a
preliminary permission for Norwegian radio amateurs to operate on a secondary
basis in the frequency band 490 ? 510 kHz using A1A only. The preliminary
permission runs until the results from WRC2011 is known. Detailed regulations
for operation in this narrow segment are under preparations by NRRL and the
Norwegian PTT. The results from these are expected to be ready early spring
2009, and thus no operation will take place until they are announced.
