Local coverage over here is around 500 miles daytime. I can qso at this distance daily on both 137 and 500 and a fraction of the power that you guys run.
I can work OH1TN and the Italian stns at over 1000 miles daily anytime on 137 and GI4DPE  and others on 500 Khz  at around 400 miles without any effort. My latest xband 137/500 is a couple of  thousand of miles away. If you read the mail I was S4 and ED was S3 with me on CW audible.
My choice is CW but I have to comply with others at times when they prefer QRS 3 etc but I do not use any lower speed than qrs3.
My Pa is 1 fet job and you could put in your pocket, call in anytime and see it. If I had the power that you guys are permitted I could work worldwide 24 hrs every day.
The Russian guys are on the ball and get their act together, always in QSO mode and no BEACON pollution.

Hmmm, 3w ERP? How much power you running Mal??? And sending QRSS? What's with that? No CW? hi hi

Local coverage on this side of the pond is considered about 50 miles from a station. So you got a first on your side of the pond & Jay & Dex got a first on our side of the pond.

Hello Mal,

last night I could copy your QRSS signal (or should I say lazy man's CW) 599+.
Congrats on the nice signal, your were beating SM6BZH (who was claiming 3 W ERP) by about 10dB.
