You have caught me out on ERP because I don't know it has not been measured but my TX was measured at about 60/70 Watts into a dummy load of 70ohms about 200volts P-P across the load. The ant tuner is currently unknown impedance but will match into the TX poorly so I hope to raise the ERP later with a better match. The ant is a Long wire up 12metres and 40metres long (Horizontal) with an "H" ground wires. Up wire in centre of "H". Will do some measurements when I get back from break when I hope to work you. Hi Pete, what power / ERP were you running ? When conditions are good (good propagation, low QRN) 10mW ERP should be enough for a basic CW QSO. Yesterday a QRSS QSO was possible, your signal was a solid "O". BTW: last night I was running 270W output power, antenna current 2.15A. The calculated (simulated) radiation resistance is 0.42 Ohm and the antenna "gain" 1.4dBd, so my theoretical ERP was about 2.7W (close to the legal limit of 5W EIRP), but I guess that quite a bit of power is absorbed by the greenery surrounding the antenna. Yes I have been running short QRSS sessions with my new higher powered TX so hopfully it was me. I will be out of the loop for about 7 days but will look out for you when I get back. My CW is poor so it will be rubber stamp if we make a contact. I have heard you working G3XIZ in the past he is located about 14km from here.
