Most of the time that I call CQ on
MF/LF I get a reply, especially when using QSX and specified HF
frequencies. Other times I get reports via private
emails.
I have never found it necessary to use the so
called grabbers. I did look recently at two grabbers and saw nothing,
when in fact there were strong signals on 500 khz from DL, SM and GI. One
grabber operator explained to me in an email that the antenna in use was
small and only worked after dark.
Surely a realtime QSO is preferred and one never
knows what DX might show up expecially working XBAND.
