Use one of these

to generate half the output frequency and double that -you may even
get by with feeding the ~250 kHz into the stage originally intended as
the oscillator and running it as a doubler.
Alternatively- use the exciter as is (it wont quite stretch to 500 kHz
out - directly) and another xtal to mix it onto 500 kHz-that way you
get to use all the exciter capabilities at 500 kHz without having to
think about the effect of doubling everything. And since the exciter
can operate anywhere from DC to 300 KHz or so you have a wide choice
of mixing xtal frequencies.

Hi Graham 500khz crystals are quite difficult to make and certainly

wount fine one in a smaller package than HC6/U as far as I remember.

are some 10X series rocks that were used in one of the frequency
calibrators
(No 10 I think) They will need chasing up a little with some
"scouring
powder". I think that is probably the best bet.....good luck finding
one...... I have one but its part of my crystal collection so not
for sale

I have seen 453.xx kHz crystals in HC6/U but never come across any
500kHz.
You could always put a 500kHz ceramic resonator inside an HC6/U case
!!
