Paul ,
looks like a advance case of 'Asperger syndrome' ?
But on a more technical note , I did a little 'work' on propagation on 500
last year,
with the help of the two excellent grabbers that have been providing a most
useful
and consistent, window on the band since it was allocated.
My self and Gary, have made good use of the facility's during some of our
combined experiments. Birmingham being some 75 miles by direct path and
Shetland round 600.
I have never experienced, previously reported, conditions, where the signals
from inside the Uk could not be viewed simultaneously, even the low powered,
multi mode beacon can be viewed.
Interestingly, Though, the antennas in use at all three 'tx' sites are of
the loaded short vertical format , which when modelled , are demonstrated to
produce a very low angle of radiation , with very little skyward 'loss', the
calculated efficiency may not be very high, but it's a case of
'its not what you have , its what you do with it'
This is in stark contrast to the somewhat gauche large wirer arrays ,
previously described , which by ground coupling alone, fail to establish a
suitable wave front to communicate over such distances , instead, radiate
most effectively in a perpendicular mode .
The three carriers represent no more than 20 mW erp each are fed to a 35
foot top loaded inverted 'L' , and can be seen to provide an adequate trace
for the purpose of the experiment

I'm sure either Gary G4WGT of myself, or others would be quite happy to run
any experiment's you may want to undertake.

Mal,
The fact that you have rather firm opinions is, by now, rather obvious.
This
should, naturally, not be restricted in any way and nobody seeks to do so.
The manner in which you express them is another matter. Any evidence of
your
ability to see other persons points of view is, however, rather thin on
the
ground.

I shall express an opinion when I consider it appropriate. Take it or
leave
it.
Points of view are published in RADCOM some controversial and some
otherwise. I am a member but do not get aggrivated by remarks that I
disagree with, I try to see the other persons point of view.

Mal,
By all means tell us about the good things you have done. Please do not
deride the achievements of others simply because you are not interested or
cannot see the point.

Thats what some in the Establishment said years ago about Wayne Green,
they
did not like others opinions or discussion so he started his own Empire ie
73 Magazine and some would say it was more popular than CQ Magazine or
QST.
This is what W6AM/Don told me when he invited me to his QTH in the mid
1970's.on my way back to the UK from Hong Kong, we had a great
celebration
with him and all the W6 dx boys.
I gave them a lot of DX QSO'S for DXCC purposes when I was YI2DX, VS9MQ,
9V1OY, 9M2CC, VS6HI and the pacific area when I was VR4MH in 1958.
I had a lot of friends in W6 and KH6 in those days when I used to visit
those areas, I also used to go to New York and normally stayed in the
Govern Clinton
Hotel 31st/7th Av. I wonder if it is still going, in the 1950's it was a
swinging place, with too many diversons for amateur radio activities.
I was President of the Hong Kong National Radio Society during 1984, DX
was
my speciality.
